AI developer for wood applications
Microtec is the world’s largest supplier of advanced image processing system for woodworking applications. We are an international group of companies with offices in Finland, Sweden, Italy and the United States. International connections, teams and cooperation is a natural part of every day’s work.
Microtec Linköping AB (formerly Woodeye AB) develops and builds scanners for wood remanufacturing. These scanners analyze lumber that runs through them and control equipment downstream the production line that e.g. cut wood boards into lamellas for floors, wood panels and furniture or sorts according to programmed quality rules.
We are currently expanding the AI-capabilities of our wood scanners. The goal is to provide AI-defect detection and classification of nearly all types of defects in wood. Accurate defect detection, segmentation, classification, and parameter estimation are crucial for our customers. These tools make wood processing efficient and environmentally friendly.
We are a world-leaders in wood scanning and believe that deep learning is the tool that will help us sharpen that edge even further.
